Huge Congratulations to Naras!
In February 2021, Dr Naras Rao from our group was awarded the highly prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship (MSCA-IF), giving him the opportunity to embark on a new research project in Belgium beginning in 2022.
Naras completed his PhD at UNSW Sydney in 2018. Supervised by Associate Professor Rita Henderson, Dr Tony Granville and Professor Richard Stuetz, Naras’ research explored algal separation in water treatment using a novel floatation process. Since then, he has been working as a Research Associate on numerous projects that have benefitted our water industry partners.
In his MSCA-IF, Naras will continue to explore ths sustainable flotation of microalgae; however, the focus this time around will be to use green chemicals, which have the potential to enhance the sustainablity of the flotation process even further.
